Jefferies reputation

Hi everyone, got IBD summer intern offer from Jefferies in London. How is Jefferies' reputation in the U.S. and Europe for Healthcare? Where does it come compared to other investment banks?

Controversial

Looking at the last 10 years, its had a good reputation as a MM bank. Reputation in this longer time horizon has been upper MM - below most BB and EB - but this is subjective.

More recently, its one of the more exciting growing places. Trying to be as objective as possible: ranked 4th in US M&A for the first 3 months this year. Company has restructured (sitting on over $2bn in cash, sold off random businesses owned by its parent company). Recruiting big names from big places (e.g. GS industrials most recently). One of the (potentially the most) fastest growing in terms of number of bankers hired.

Currently, reputation is in the mid/lower quartile of EBs and BBs (referencing Vault's rankings). But potentially a good future ahead for reputation especially with its regulatory advantage (more info on FT re Leucadia).
