Not really it will be more credit-focused. You might be able to network your way into IB tho

Definitely agree it’s a good start of career, lots of transferable skills, but if bear is interested in equity research, I’ll recommend to keep applying on related roles.
Commercial banking at a BB will open doors within finance. I know people who have done it and gone to IB, ER (this is what I did), S&T, and a number of other corporate roles
