JPM Chi

Anyone have insight into what the JPM M&A team looks like in Chicago? Have an upcoming interview and saw they've been aggresively hiring MDs and senior members over the past few months. Is it mid-cap only, do you work with NY on large cap deals, or mix of both? Thank you

JPM Chicago's M&A team heavily covers the auto industry and a significant portion of the bank's other Industrials, along with some Consumers, LevFin, and Sponsors coverage. The work appears to be a mix of buy-side, sell-side, financings, and strategic advisory assignments. Teams are described as being relatively thin, and the culture may not be as strong compared to other Chicago shops. While the focus leans towards mid-cap deals, there is collaboration with product groups out of New York, which could involve larger, more complex transactions.
