JPM FIG vs EVR ECM
Optimizing for highest comp I can get over the course of my career. So considering comp of doable exits alongside actual comp at these two teams as an analyst.

Evercore has so much name brand aura, but am aware that FIG is one of JPM's strongest groups while can't say the same for Evercore's ECM team
What would you even do in ECM at Evercore? Someone correct me if I'm wrong but they just sit as joint/passive bookrunner on most deals. Don't think you would actually learn anything. In ecm you want to be on a lead left bank which is gs/ms/jpm/bofa/etc. like 90% of the time.
I believe they are growing out their ECM team, have been lead-left for a few deals and have started to underwrite more of their own deals as well. But yea overall still only breaking T20 in league tables, though it is a smaller team so bonus might be a little nicer than the BBs
Take jpm. If u hate it it’s very easy to lateral to any BB product group. For cap markets it doesn’t make a ton of sense to choose a non balance sheet bank, evercore or not
great group at a great firm vs bottom group at a great firm. easy JPM
JPM
Someone correct me if I’m wrong but can you even exit from pure ecm?
