Career Resources
It’s 5% by costs, not by headcount. Focused primarily at VP+ level. That being side basically all groups have been affected in some ways within the last few weeks.
Is it over now?
Think so; our group confirmed that everyone who would be laid off, has been laid off.
Layoffs in the Industrial group
How recently was this?
Today
What groups were affected and primarily what position? Would love to hear anecdotally based on your own group. I assume related to the Bloomberg headline last week with the total number being 40.
CCB VP, I was laid off today
Can you send pm me? Are you looking to stay in banking at the VP level?
Sorry to hear this. How many % wise were laid off in CCB? Heard it's pretty top heavy?
Analyst in IB, just got laid off. Multiple other first years and second years got laid off too
Was it performance? Or random
Mixture of both. No one had their official reviews yet, so hard to fully know
group?
Industrials
Oh man I’m sorry to hear. I was laid off 6 months into my analyst program. It’s a tough market for junior bankers. Took me three months to get back into finance. Really hope you and your class find seats at the next bank without too much trouble. Sucks to see so much junior talent getting cut this year.
Weren't you at FTP? Pretty shitty they laid first years off that early. What was your impression of the place?
Keep your head up and pushing forward! Saw multiple good Analysts get let go, while others who I thought were less talented stayed.
Tough market but this could make you stronger over the long run.
Heard multiple first year and 2nd year got laid off
Sorry to hear this..
what the hell is wrong with you! you keep hijacking other people’s forums with your damn copy pasted question. Dudes who lack situational awareness like you are the first to usually go.
FYI, usually these dumbass questions come from one of the business insider journalists who make a piece about Wall Street events. There’s like 3 of them on this site
