JPM M&A Chicago Gone??

We all know JPM recently announced the discontinuation of their M&A group. For NYC, there are a bunch of coverage groups these M&A bankers can get absorbed into.

But what about Chicago? It’s my understanding that JPM’s only coverage groups in Chicago are Industrials and the Mid-Cap group. Are both of these groups absorbing every M&A banker staffed in Chicago? Is JPM laying people off?

I recently saw the departure of a JPM Chicago industrials banker; she left for global tech at Barclays in Chicago. But I’m unsure if that was related to the organizational changes at  JPM.

Does anyone have any intel on this?
