JPM MMBSI Exit

I am currently an intern for MMBSI ABL(Chicago) and am exploring potential exit opportunities. I aim to pursue a career in Investment Banking, specifically in Leverage Finance or M&A. However, I've heard that transitioning from the middle market to these areas can be challenging. I'm interested in learning from others who have successfully made this jump. How did you approach networking, and what realistic opportunities might I have to make this transition? I should note that I will have one more internship opportunity after this summer and was considering a lateral move to CCBSI, but I would prefer a direct pathway to Investment Banking.

SFG team (syndicated finance group) has base of 100k with AN1 bonus around 40% of base. Hours around 70/week. Exits are solid to PC shops and other lev fin teams

bonus is not currently 40% lol can confirm this from people I know in the group, maybe previous years during the Bullrun like IB similarly.
