JPMorgan Hirevue (no deadline) - IB summer analyst - too late?
Hey! I applied to JPMorgan last Tuesday for the Investment Banking summer analyst role in London. I was given a hirevue invite straight after applying and there was no deadline on it just that they are accepting on a rolling basis so to do the interview as soon as possible.
Unfortunately, I was super ill last week and had to be hospitalised for a bit and could not do the hirevue until now. The deadline for JPMorgan applications was on the 26th November (yesterday) so I am still able to do my hirevue.
However, I have seen people say that they expect you to do it in a day or two and that anyone applying on the deadline or doing hirevues later than 48 hours will certainly be rejected. I know the chances are slim anyway.
I was planning on doing the interview tomorrow as currently I have nowhere to do the interview in a quiet place (I am back home and there's just a lot of people everywhere and it's not a quiet household). Tomorrow morning will be silent as everyone will be at work. This is 7 whole days after receiving the interview invite. Will this lead to an automatic rejection?
I saw online a person saying that if I don't do the interview by the time they start looking at the next batch of CVs, I will get rejected no matter what.
I also know I applied quite late as applications opened up in September but there hasn't been any news of Investment Banking summer assessment centres being given out yet. Only for other divisions so I assumed they are still sifting through?
Well there's not much to think about right? The only time you can do it is when everyone is at work, so I say just do it the best way you can and stop stressing about these rumors. I don't think any of the people who told you are HR at JP anyways.
There is really no point in losing energies counting the hours that passed since you received the email.
Also if this helps, I always took the video interviews on the latest day possible and still ended up with offers so focus only on the thing you CAN control, that is, answering those questions perfectly
Thank you. That is very true. I just don't want to ruin my chances as getting this would genuinely change my life completely.
I'll have it done tomorrow and practise as many questions as possible. And I'll try to not worry as much. The guy that said it I think worked at JPMorgan and says he usually sifts through applications and helps in the process.
