Just signed an offer at Oppenheimer New York

Hi everyone,

I recently signed an Investment Banking offer with Oppenheimer in NYC and had a few questions for anyone who currently works there or has worked there in the past:

1. What are some of the perks in the office?
2. Is there a meal stipend?
3. What is the office like? Has it been renovated recently?
4. How would you describe the culture within the investment banking group?
5. What does comp look like?

I’d appreciate any insights. Thanks in advance!

Based on the most helpful WSO content, here’s what you need to know about Oppenheimer in NYC:

  1. Perks in the Office: There’s no specific mention of unique perks or standout benefits in the office from the available data.

  2. Meal Stipend: There’s no indication of a meal stipend being offered at Oppenheimer NYC.

  3. Office Environment: There’s no detailed description of the office environment or recent renovations in the context provided.

  4. Culture: The culture within the investment banking group at Oppenheimer isn’t explicitly detailed in the available information.

  5. Compensation: Oppenheimer’s compensation has been criticized in WSO threads. For example, first-year analysts reportedly earn a base salary of $90-100K, which is considered low compared to competitors. Additionally, the firm does not offer a 401K match, and bonuses are not significantly higher to offset this.

If you’re looking for more specific insights, engaging with current or former employees on WSO forums might provide additional clarity.

Thanks, the interview process was significantly easier compared to BB interviews I’m done. I met with around 10 people. Mostly behavioral, technicals were mostly 400 questions based. Overall, really liked the people I met with and a great process.
