I've recently joined a boutique focusing on the TMT sectors straight out of college. The team is tiny (7 people in total) and is run by a veteran in the TMT and M&A sector. Team is overall good, hours and pay are pretty good, but I have some reservations regarding my own personal exit opportunities.
For a bit of context, this firm has been around for over 25 years doing what they do. Executed close to 300 transactions in that time frame, with the vast majority of deals between $10-$50m in size. The firm may sometimes go below or above that range, but not often.
Reputation wise (outside the USA), can't seem to find what people think about this firm. We've got strong partnerships with all the MM PE firms and lots of HNWI in our country, but that's all I'm able to find. Partnerships with mid-tier M&A firms (think SSG Capital, Fairmount Partners, Piper Jaffray etc) that we collaborate on cross-border deals with.
Past analysts have gone on to work in roles I'd consider very poor exits. Two exited to Big 4 CF but the others went on to do things like accounting, operations, some business dev stuff at small companies, etc. Not necessarily exiting into bigger banks or PE funds, which has me very worried.
As for the work, I handle pretty much all aspects from origination all the way through to execution. I've even started originating clients for the firm and going out to meet with them, all the way through to prepping IMs, term sheets, financial modelling (nothing earth-shattering, primarily DCFs and transaction comps) and the like. Overall I'd say its a good experience inside the whole M&A process, and I've gotten to use some IB platforms which is nice (CapIQ, Eikon etc.).
As for my personal stuff, attended a top target university and graduated with a 3.0. Held a number of internships during college (VC fund, no-name IB and Big 4 CF).
How well placed am I to exit from this firm down the track? Been here 3 months and not looking to leave until another year, but realistically, am I in good standings to lateral to a BB or even a MM bank? MBAs aren't considered worthwhile where I live so unfortunately it isnt a great option to consider.

I have and it's fantastic (which is why I tagged you). My main concern is given this firm's lack of pedigree and brand name and my personal profile (outlined in the OP), do I stand a decent chance of later moving to a MM or even a BB?

You have a solid chance. It will come down to your ability to perform in interviews. Make sure your resume is solid and that you're prepared for interviews.
