Kinda losted / HK / AI

International, current class of 2028, non-DEI. Originally from HK/SG. School is a target for NYC but more of a semi-non target for Asian offices.

Had a gap year before college for fun. Didn't convert any spds into offer for SA 2027. Maybe re-recruit.

Recently I've been thinking about some shit like: I literally did nothing during the year between my HS and college, and wasted a ton of opportunities this year. Prolly gotta graduate 2 years later than my HS peers and by the time of college graduation - 2029 (if I re-recruit), maybe AI can be great af to substitute a large portion of junior bankers and I'll get laid off soon or didn't succeeded in another year of recruitment. I didn't have much experience in how to get my interviews polished during this cycle so really gained lots of experiences. Hopefully these can boost me a lot for the next recruiting cycle.

Another option is: HK/SG SA 2027 (not opened yet, but soon), then aiming for a solid BB/EB spot at HK/SG/APAC, then try to apply back to US positions by the time that 2027 SA ends.

Lowkey this brings a ton of depression to me recently and I can't think back about why did I chose to gap for that fugging year and also why I didn't seize the JPM/EVR/etc interviews.
