Many come in through various diversity initiatives. Some are well connected, some have good resumes and some are lucky.

Are you likely going to be at a BB this summer because you have connections?

I don't know of anybody who has interned as an undergrad at KKR in private equity - most KKR interns are with the client and partner group, which is business development and investor relations. These positions are typically just filled with OCR.

BX PE runs a structured SA program, and I believe that Cerberus, Silver Lake, and Bain Capital do as well. Apollo takes sophomores, which are also recruited via OCR.
