KPMG M&A vs. Deloitte M&A (Corporate Finance Advisory)

Hi all,

I have internship offers from both KPMG M&A vs. Deloitte M&A (Corporate Finance Advisory).

Which of the above would you guys go for and why?

Background: 2nd year bachelor, end goal is BB IB, target school, top 5%.

Thanks!

Both are solid, I think both offer the ACA in the UK but double check.

I'd go for whichever one has the strongest deal flow (check on league tables but I think KPMG/PwC are usually #1 out of the Big 4).

Nonetheless you'd get solid experience at either place and would have good IB exit opps.

Suggest you look on LinkedIn in to see how many people have come in from KPMG/Deloitte at each BB to give you a better idea of placement.

Background: I worked at KPMG in the IB group (corporate finance)

Unless something changed very recently that I am not aware of KPMG CF does not hire interns so if I were you I would make sure that the offer is for the investment banking group (KPMG Corporate Finance). I have a feeling that the position is for general Advisory and not necessarily within the IB group. If the Deloitte offer is for an internship directly with their IB group I would take that as it will obviously set you up better for IB, but if they are both just for general Advisory then it's six to one.

Edit: My knowledge is based on US operations so things may be different across the pond.

Deloitte is marginally more prestigious almost across the board in NA. But I am less familiar with how their M&A practices compare
