Late start as analyst at an EB

I am currently an incoming EB SA and if things go well, I will be joining the firm full-time. The problem is: there's this exchange semester program in Japan that I want to do for my final semester as a senior. The program will end in August - after my full-time cohort will have started/finished with training. I just got the offer for the program and I am unsure if I should take it.

Do you guys know of cases where people are able to start later than the regular cohort in July? This is not something I want to bring up to the firm since I don't want it to affect my chances of getting a return offer, but do you guys think it will be difficult to get a late start approved?

Wait till you get the offer and it’s likely they’ll be open to it and worst case they say no without consequence to you.

Accept the application and renege on your school, not the company. In the case of paying deposits, maybe just don’t do this thing if you’re uncomfortable forfeiting the money and instead spend the money on a similar vacation to this place. This would be the best choice in the situation.

Also, you’ll be paid a starting bonus in much excess to any deposits you’ll have to pay so you can justify the sink cost.
