Lateral and still no As1

3rd year and said I’m still not ready. Pretty embarrassed and feel like I deserved it. I basically was one on all my deals but to be brutally honest the first years that I worked with provided really no support. Actually made things harder. Not blaming them as I wasn’t that great when I started to and they were expected to hit the ground running since day 1. Would walk them through everything but would always have to take over. Being the most senior analyst, I was also staffed on the most stuff and it was rough. Deals I worked on weren’t typical M&A process that I was used and since I lateraled I was still new learning myself on how the group did things.

Wasn’t not told to leave on spot but encouraged to look elsewhere. Feedback was that Im still a little slow, modeling is sub par, and don’t really communicate well. The positives are that I’ll do whatever it takes, really strong work ethic. What is a good way to spin durning interviews that i wasn’t promoted? Looking to now move to MM PE as I never recruited buyside seriously. Thanks
