Lateral - Expected Bonus?

For those that have gone through the lateral process, has your new potential employer asked you to indicate your expected bonus this year? I'm minded to ask them to put me on their pay scale for what they think is fair (i.e., assume I was their employee at the same level) rather than negotiating against myself.

How have others dealt with this? I'm a VP at a BB going to another BB
