Lateral First Year Analyst

I'm looking to break in as a first-year analyst with non-IB experience (non-target - graduated May 2018). I currently work for a boutique PE fund focused on a specific industry and am trying to leverage that experience into an investment banking role within a coverage group of the industry I currently work in.

Will I be eligible to jump into on-cycle interviewing for a June 2020 start given that I am a year out of school? I have contacts within a couple of these groups. Or is the only way to lateral off cycle?

Thanks
