Lateral from Chicago MM IB to NYC BB/EB?
How feasible is it? Also, from which level do you have the best shot? I’m guessing A2 would be the sweet spot?

Probably after your 2nd year coming in as A2/A3 to new bank. Lot of A2 leaves for PE so theres a talent drain at the AN3 level. If you come in after a year at the A2 level, there might be slight hesitation since you could adjust and then bounce after a year, perpetuating more problems in retention
Oh thanks for the response. Do you think it’s pretty viable to make the jump?
Definitely viable, if you're going from same coverage group to same one. If you have good deal experience and its a reputable MM shop will def get you in the door (target undergrad could win a brownie point or two); prolly would be best to hit up alumni, maybe other people who have similar backgrounds. However, not sure right now is best time to go to a new shop. Not building rapport with the new team in this kind of job economy would be tough when revenues plummet end of '23 and people r on the chopping block
thanks man. i wont be doing a lateral now so think itls gonna be fine
Can you say a short list of reputable MM shops in Chicago?
