Lateral from corporate banking to investment banking going into FT corporate banking - is it possible?

Hi, this summer I was interning for a large (non BB) bank in NYC (mainly a balance sheet bank) and was in one of their FO debt product groups, helping with marketing materials, deal structure, a bit of modeling, etc.. I got an offer to join them full time after graduation next year which I accepted and am extremely happy about. I do not know for sure if I see myself doing CB for the long term and wanted to ask if there were possibilities to lateral over to the IB side. I understand that the job market is pretty slow right now which leads me to want to work for at least a year or two on the CB side. Any thoughts? Thanks
