Lateral from MM as VP or Director to BB

Has any one seen people lateral at more mid levels? It's definitely possible as an AN, Assoc, or even a VP1, but curious if anyone has seen a title for title move at the VP or Director level?

I've heard the more senior you become, the more locked in you are to the respective size. Maybe you can move to an EB if you're really good. Curious if anyone's seen it happen from a MM to BB though.

Short answer is yes. In my BB coverage group there were a handful of senior associates and VPs that lateraled here. It was somewhat circumstantial though since we had peak deal volume last year. You just have to be opportunistic from a timing perspective. Edit - they joined from the tier of banks similar to Piper, Raymond James, Mizuho, Stifel, Oppenheimer, etc.
