lateral move
Hope to get useful ideas / information from the more experienced bankers on this board.
As background information, and for obvious reasons I wouldn’t want to expand too much, I am a 1st year IB analyst (east coast) and I got placed into a group that doesn’t fit my interests whatsoever. I would appreciate any intelligence on banks/boutiques that are looking to bring on board a 1st year analyst right now, maybe to replace someone who recently left.
But beyond information on hiring banks (if that even exists at the moment), what’s the best way to go about making a lateral move when you are half way through the first year?
Please don’t simply suggest to stay where I am and hope for the best; that’s an obvious option that I am considering but one that doesn’t help me with devising an alternative – which is the purpose of this post.
Much thanks in advance.
