Lateral Networking LinkedIn Message

Hey guys, just wanted to get some insight on the below networking message that I'm thinking of using as I continue to network for future lateral opportunities. My main concern is that the message is too wordy/long and will deter people from actually reading through the whole thing.

Let me know what you guys think!

Hi xx,

I hope you're doing well. My name is xx, and I'm currently an investment banking senior analyst at a boutique investment bank called xx.

I have recently been trying to lateral to larger investment banking platforms. I was hoping to get some insight into the recruiting process and how to best position myself since I am coming from a significantly smaller investment bank.

It would also be great to learn more about your story and the steps you took to successfully land at xx.

I know you're busy, but I'd greatly appreciate a brief call if possible. I'm available anytime this week from 12:00 PM onwards. If this doesn't work, I will accommodate your schedule as necessary. I can be reached at xx, or xx

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

I am interested in lateraling to a global investment bank and would greatly appreciate if you would have time for a quick phone call as I would be interested in hearing how you have found the experience of working in such an organisation?

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Why not? Are u scared of competition?

As an analyst i put fwd regurlarly ppl who i think have a relevant profile & seem chill. If we get laterals that means more ppl to do work ie a slightly better life for me, hence the incentive

And its not upto the vp. Goes much higher though u are right i have no say in the decision making whereas the vp can weigh in
