Lateral Question

Has anyone ever been in a weird lateral process before? For context, trying to lateral to another BB/EB, and went through whole interview process including model test, flying out to meet entire team, and drinks after. Thought it went well as team was joking about when I could start and moving logistics, etc.

However, communication on their side has been non-existent for the most part after saying they’ll be in touch. I check in every so often (1-2 weeks) and their team/HR mentions it’s a slow time of year and that the team really liked meeting with me.

However, given it’s been 6-8 weeks of the same feedback, am I being misled? Just never been a part of a process like and wondering if I should just assume I was rejected. I would normally write this off given I have to keep reaching out but their team has mentioned they continue to like me and admin/HR continues to say the same thing.

Hey man - been in the lateral market myself for some time now and recently received a couple offers. From my experience, they usually reach out to you within 2 weeks. Otherwise, you're either waitlisted or they accepted another candidate.

Makes sense and what I assumed as well, thanks. It’s just weird that each time I’ve checked in, both HR/team say they’re still interested and really enjoyed speaking with me, etc.

Based on that, assuming I am waitlisted or something. Just weird why they wouldn’t be more neutral about communication or just ghost me tbh.
