Lateral to a smaller bank = pointless?
Just started my first IB role (internship), and I am wondering if it’s pointless to apply to similar sized firms or even smaller ones in the future.
Got my eyes on EBs and the BBs.
At a senior level it can of course make sense to move to a smaller firm, but is it ever worth it at junior level? Or would it just be essentially moving sideways?
Unless it’s for a specific reason such as a particular industry group or want to move cities it seems like a sideways move to go from boutique to boutique.
