Lateral to IB Internally Without Leaving

Hello - I was wondering how hard would it be to lateral internally (from FO to FO) at a top BB (think GS/MS/JPM/BAML) from a capital markets group after 2 years. I really like my firm, and would prefer to stay at the firm. I would be willing to start over as a first year analyst (1 step back 2 steps forward thing etc). I understand the skill set isn’t directly transferable, but I figure nobody has “skill set” expectations for a starting 1st year IB analyst, right? If it was for a LevFin group I assume there would be some overlap in skills (bond math, pricing, etc). Would be great to hear from anyone who made the switch or knows anyone who has.
