Lateraling From a FIG/Oil & Gas Summer Analyst Position to a FT Role in another group

Hi everyone,

Next summer I will be at a Mid-Tier BB Bank in NYC (BAML, Citi, Credit Suisse, or Barclays) in a specialized group. It goes without saying that I am beyond grateful for my offer, and I am fortunate to be one of the few with a job in investment banking. That being said, I have a long-term focus in TMT, and I would prefer that experience over Oil & Gas / FIG. I will be recruiting for a FT role at BB and Independent Advisory Banks in NYC next summer, and I was wondering, how difficult it is to make this transition. My ultimate goal is PE.

Any insight is appreciated. Thank You!
