Latin America Coverage: Why?

I have the opportunity to interview with a latin america coverage group at a BB and to be honest with you I wasn't planning on interviewing with this group. I don't want to say i'm not interested in this group because I am open to anything, but I haven't been exposed to this group or have even thought about it. I would like to do more research to further gauge an interest. That being said, for those who are interested in LatAM, can you tell me what drove you to join this coverage? What interests you about it?

My current boss did LatAm banking after business school, and he said it was the best decision he ever made. He said broadening his horizon to outside of the US helped him gain a unique perspective and learn how to take risks. (He also lived there, so not sure if this is the same type of thing). That's not specific to LatAm but I think its a valid point you could bring up.

Hahaha so true. Gotta love the latin time schedule. If you're 30 minutes late you're still an hour early.
