Lazard

I here this bank is a sweatshop but what group is the best pay and exit opps and how do they compare to banks like Evercore and centerveiw for healthcare which I am really interested in due to stability and high deal flow as well as great exit opps

Lazard is known for being a demanding place to work, especially in certain groups, but it also offers strong exit opportunities and solid pay. Among the different groups, restructuring is one of the strongest, providing great exposure and exits to top-tier distressed debt and private equity firms. Healthcare at Lazard is also a solid choice, though it may not be as dominant as Evercore or Centerview in that sector.

Compared to Evercore and Centerview, Lazard generally offers slightly lower compensation at the junior level, but it is still competitive. Centerview is known for its elite pay and strong exits, particularly within healthcare, while Evercore also has a strong reputation and higher pay relative to Lazard. If healthcare is your focus and stability is a key factor, Centerview would likely be the best choice, but Lazard still provides good deal flow and exits.

Huge sweatshop; very lean deal teams but very good large-cap exposure. Lazard runs a lot leaner than their EB peers. Had a weak 2024, but is having a pretty strong Q1 2025 so far. Pay at the junior levels is always dependent on what bucket you are and at senior levels on the deal flow you bring in, so impossible to answer. In terms of deal flow/experience: As for groups, any bank with RX is going to be uniquely more technical, Lazard has pretty strong coverage in most sectors though afaik, know their HC and Industrials coverage areas are particularly strong for deal flow but don't think it's one of those firms with a wide variety in group rankings.

No idea about exit opps, but out of the three you listed in the initial comment CVP is the best HC team by a very wide margin. They are the best HC team on the street by a wide margin tbh, they are on basically every single large cap deal in the space. Effron and Pruzan are perhaps two of the greatest modern-day bankers in the world.
