Lazard Chicago and Moelis Chicago FT First Round Interviews - what to expect?
I have first round in-person interviews at both of the aforementioned firms at their Chicago offices.
I was wondering if anyone could shed some insight on what I should expect to know for each of the interviews, and how I should prepare?
For example, with Lazard Chicago, from what I understand it's a generalist program, so would I be expected to know restructuring technicals even without any background in bankruptcy/distressed debt situations, given the head of RX is there? If so, what's the best way to learn that?
Also, any insights on culture at either of the two and types of/recent deals they usually do would be great.
I tried using the search option but there's not much for the Chicago offices.
Thanks, I really appreciate it!
Just curious how you got those interviews?
Did you apply through your network or online?
Applied online, knew people from previous recruiting season.
Anybody know anything else in terms of what to expect for interviews?
Know that Moelis Chicago is a sweatshop.
Yup. I've heard Moelis is in general, but know someone at the Chicago office that moved over from a BB.
Be prepared to dodge printers. I'd brush up on your '40 time and shuttle speed.
