Lazard LA in 2024

Hey all - current sophomore based in LA looking at recruiting for LA offices come spring, and would appreciate more insight in Lazard LA's office, especially given that the office has been through considerable change over the past couple of years. Thanks!

Former Lazard LA analyst - it's historically a strong office but it's fallen off considerably and future prospects don't seem great. The office has historically been divided between interactive media (video games) and A&D, and both sides have historically been very strong. However, the strongest A&D seniors have moved over to PWP LA, and only the group head is left at Lazard LA now I believe. The seniors who moved over to PWP LA were truly both the culture setters at Lazard LA and made the A&D franchise there a great place to work at, and Lazard LA losing them is a huge hit on both deal flow and junior experience. I have no doubt that the Lazard office will continue to see turnover at the top in the near term due to both firmwide dynamics going on with Lazard and internal LA office dynamics. While LA is too important of a region for Lazard to just close shop and Lazard will most certainly reload by poaching seniors from other offices, the office just isn't nearly as strong as it used to be and it's seen its best days.
