Lazard Why Group/Office answer SA 2026

Why healthcare in chicago?

Why technology in boston?

How should we answer these questions online? Should we utilized past experiences/internships, the region itself, deals etc. And How long should they be? Cover letter length (300 words)?

healthcare - strong dealflow especially in biopharma (not sure that Chicago has Healthcare, it's NY and a bit of SF)

Boston tech - great if you know you want to be placed in tech (as opposed to generalist NYC) and small office feel

overall why laz - lots of large cap, strategic, cross-border activity (unique in that there's a huge presence in EUR), rich history (150+ years), tight-knit feel (2,000 employees worldwide), analysts working purely on M&A/Rx (more technical experience vs some other firms/groups)
