LBS MBA Investment Banking Recruitment in London

Hi All,

I have seriously been considering undertaking an MBA at LBS with the intention of going into Investment Banking after. I don't necessarily have a finance background, although I manage the P&L and all associated financial modelling for a subsidiary of a large e-commerce platform in South East Asia.

I have read conflicting information across the web regarding recruitment for IB in London for MBA grads. It ranges from;

  1. The market is good and if you want IB you will get it, to;
  2. Banks don't hire post-MBA associates anymore in London, don't even bother trying

I just want to gauge public opinion before I shell out PS100k+ for a goal that not even attainable.

Also for reference, I don't imagine visas will be too difficult for me as I am a citizen of a commonwealth nation (NZ/Aus) and culturally I also expect to fit in given I grew up in NZ.

Anyhow, if you guys could help would be great.

Thanks!
