Leaving banking after a year
I left a 200K corp dev job to go to banking. I joined corp dev out of college so I felt the fomo of not having banking on my resume. 8 months in and this job is killing me. Endless 4AM nights. I also have no family or friends in NYC. It’s becoming so depressing. I also feel like banking is just pure PPT work with the occasional LBO / operating model. At least in corp dev I was modeling and doing analysis most of the time (not much slide work). For those that quit after a year did you regret it? I am desperate to leave. I’m on 2 sell sides and there is so much pitch work. It’s hard not to feel suicidal. I hate my life
