Lehman over Goldman?
Friend of mine is about to take a Lehman IBD offer over Goldman. His Goldman offer is with the Private Equity Group, which is technically Asset Management but staffed mostly with bankers, as someone said before. Thoughts?
He is making the right decision. GS PEG isn't good, their actual PE investing is done by PIA in merchant banking.
agreed ibd owns Asset Management any day goldman's real private equity is done by PIA which would be a sick job but otherwise, lehman ibd is still better
i have a friend doing the opposite. i think goldman PEG is better than lehman ibd. it is mostly bankers working there anyway, most of whom come from goldman's ibd
What school does said friend go to?
