Any insights into comp, hours, general culture, exit ops and verticals (Industrials and BS would be ideal) is much appreciated
Based on the most helpful WSO content, Lincoln International is highly regarded, particularly for its professional growth opportunities, where it ranks at the top with a 99.6% satisfaction score as of September 2023. Rothschild and Houlihan Lokey are often considered more prestigious due to their global brand recognition and strong presence in high-profile deals.
Key Insights:
Reputation: Lincoln International is respected, especially within the middle-market space, but it doesn't quite match the prestige of Rothschild or Houlihan Lokey in London.
Compensation: While specific London compensation details aren't provided, Lincoln's overall compensation is competitive within the middle-market tier. It may not reach the levels of elite boutiques but is still attractive.
Hours and Culture: Lincoln is known for a relatively better work-life balance compared to some of the more intense firms. The culture is often described as collegial and supportive, which aligns with its high employee satisfaction score (99.1%).
Exit Opportunities: Lincoln provides solid exit opportunities, particularly within the middle market. However, exits to top-tier private equity or hedge funds may be less frequent compared to Rothschild or Houlihan Lokey.
Verticals: Lincoln has a strong presence in Industrials and Business Services (BS), which are among its core verticals. These groups are well-regarded for their deal flow and expertise.
In summary, Lincoln International's London office is a strong player in the middle market, offering excellent growth opportunities and a supportive culture. However, it is generally considered a tier below Rothschild and Houlihan Lokey in terms of prestige and exit opportunities.

No, they are not on par with Rothschild or HL. Comp is below market, culture is team dependant, exits are within IB
Lacking in ldn
Agree with the above poster, not on par with Rothschild or HL. Office location is pretty amazing tho, culture seems very decent in Healthcare and Tech (not sure about industrials/BS) but comp is £30k for interns and £60k for AN1. 70% of their deals are selling PE portcos, so have seen people exit to LMM/MM funds.
Trust me the office location is not amazing. I work nearby and hate it there. Packed with tourists 24/7
Exactly this. Getting lunch in the summer was a nightmare. Getting pints at night with your bag was incredibly anxiety-inducing lol
Is comp still 30k for interns and what is bonus like for AN1
Lincoln > EVR/PJT/ every BB
People throwing MS while I was obviously joking lmao
interviewed with BS in LDN a few months ago - they are expanding MD hires and looking to build out a wider team.
Ignore the title. Former Lincoln M&A banker here. Pay was below market, hours are terrible, massive turnover (majority of the office quit over the last two years), and struggling to grow dealflow.
Where do people generally exit to?
Mostly LMM to MM PE
can i pm - potentially have an offer from the london office to join as a senior analyst
