LinkedIn Cold Message - Follow up?

Hi, I'm recently struggling on a situation that - I added someone on LinkedIn, he/she approved, and I started sending the first cold message (format just like a cold email). The person read your message but didn't reply, should I send a follow-up message? It may look more awkward than cold email where you can basically send a new one instead of replying on the original one to remind someone.

Anyone has ideas? Really appreciate it!

I’m not in the industry but I did do Sales in the past. Follow-up weekly. The person will either respond positively or negatively. People tend to be passive with LinkedIn or email because they can be. That doesn’t mean they don’t want to help you or aren’t interested in speaking with you. In any case, that new connection should be only one of at least 20-50 targets that you can prospect.

Some people will just never reply. If after 3 or 4 touches (as a connection) you don’t receive a response, move on. People connect on LinkedIn sometimes just to increase their connections.

Hope this helps.
