Will be working at Houlihan Lokey starting in a few months. Do most people rent a place between 1700-3000 monthly in Century City near the office (5 min drive, 15 min walk). If not, what are some other popular areas? Additionally, is the homeless problem bad in Century City? Looked on google maps and saw almost no tents which seemed off for LA. Any details would be helpful.

Century city is extremely clean- it is essentially a part of Beverly Hills. Great location for the office, but I wouldn’t live there. I would look in Santa Monica, WeHo, or Culver City for a new grad IMO.

This. I’m from LA and Century City is pretty much a business district, no social scene. Most people commute in from Santa Monica, WeHo, Beverly Hills etc. You don’t wanna live there when just 15 minutes away all the fun is happening.

Just moved to LA from NYC and work in the century city area. It is not a good area for a post grad. I live in Sawtelle which is another neighborhood to add to the ones above. Most of the other analysts live in Sawtelle, Mid City (traffic is a killer on the way home) with a few in Bev Hills and WeHo.
5 min drive vs. 15 min drive makes a big difference at 2-3am... can always Uber to the happening spots on the weekend.
That was my thought as well. Do you think 1700-2200 a month in century city for a single bedroom and bath in a house with roommates is as good as it gets for century city? It is what I am seeing through my research. Thanks again
