Living with fellow analysts?
Incoming analyst at a bank with a smaller group and starting to think about my housing options. Have any of you lived with your fellow coworkers? I am nervous that working and living with my fellow analysts could have bad side effects, so would love to hear some anecdotes from those who have been through it.
Thank you!
bump, also wondering the same thing. It does make it easier to find roommates but at the same time I feel like if you did some dumb shit at home it could end up back at the office.
Just get a 1BR. The value of always being able to come home and crash (sans distractions) can’t be overstated.
I've thought about this as well. But also worried about the social isolation (especially given the pandemic). I love my alone time but also enjoy having someone to talk to, so im thinking I may avoid living alone... at least early on
It does put a little more of the going out onus on you, but just be a self-starter. Plus, the pandemic’s over in ~6m.
Ppl at my bank (~30 analysts per year or so) routinely live together and it's alright no issues cause the culture is pretty solid. Analysts actually become pretty close friends
This is helpful, thanks. Any thoughts on if this would be different for a smaller group? I'm in a non-HQ office that takes ~4 analysts per year. So if I'm working a good deal with these analysts and then living with them, I'm hesitant it's TOO much time with them.
