London job openings are dire at the moment
looking to make a lateral move (4 yrs exp currently) outside my firm to another BB in IB product space. but the job openings are virtually non-existent at the banks i'm looking at.... JPM, C, BAC, BARC, HSBC, DB, SG etc
not looked for a job in a while but is it normally like this or are we in a serious drought because of covid and brexit?
It's been bad for a few years in london
Need to get out of London. Come across the Pond.
I know my bank has put on hold all recruitment until the current situation settles down, especially for experienced hires as less people exited than the normal number at the experienced Ana-Asso level. Honestly brexit is not really impacting this as at the junior level you could work from anywhere, and the bank could easily relocate you (or if you say no push you out) but Covid is. Product groups are also taking a toll (M&A especially), CM are doing fine due to increase activity as firms stack piles of cash on BS.
