London MM IB Modeling Test (Analyst)
Hi,
I have an upcoming 3 statement + DCF modelling test/case study coming up for a London boutique analyst role. Does anyone have any experience in these and what the format looks like/whether we are expected to conduct sensitivity analysis via data tables etc.?
Any insights would be much appreciated.
Thanks
standard format at london mm/boutiques: 1-2 hours timed, they hand you an assumptions sheet and a blank or partially built excel, you build the 3 statements linked and a dcf on top. sometimes a quick lbo at the end if time allows.
the thing that kills people isn't the concepts, it's speed and hygiene. practice building from a blank sheet under a clock. know the dcf cold - unlevered fcf, wacc, terminal value both ways (exit multiple and gordon) - and be ready to defend every assumption out loud after. they always ask you to walk through it.
don't hardcode anything, they check the formulas. and keep formatting clean - half the grade is whether an associate could pick your model up and use it.
