London post-MBA associate opportunities
Hi all,
I'm at the moment an experienced professional (7 years) within non-IB department in a large multinational bank (like JPM/Citi/HSBC), at VP level (very far from IB, more of commercial/transaction banking). Considering getting an MBA for career switch to investment banking, by using the usual route MBA ->summer associate->associate in UK.
Looking at top UK schools for MBA (LBS/Oxford/Cambridge) and maybe Insead as well with the goal of looking for a job in London.
However, some say that post-mba associate route with no prior experience is basically non-existent now anymore in UK (though still exists in the States).
A couple of friends in the industry in London confirm the same. Would you guys have any experience here? Did banks really close all summer associate and post-MBA associate recruiting? What are the post-mba options in Finance then?
Any info on that, guys?
Well I don't think they closed it but it's pretty known that breaking into Associate without experience is much harder.
