£3.5k (excluding bills) for 1 bedroom flat in Zone 1 (living between Blackfriars and Holborn station) with broken window. Kinda overpriced for the size (only 350-400sqft) and the quality but got this apartment in peak season and it's impossible to find anything livable for less than £3k
Less than 6 months ago you were recruiting for FT. So at most you're an analyst 1 taking home ~4k a month. You're telling me you're spending almost 90% of your income on rent?
I have side income plus parents' support tho and my take-home is £4.7k actually
£0 - still living at home - zone 1 family house. Don't see the point of renting when I get back at 2am anyway.
What’s the point of this comment lol
Sees a thread about benchmarking rent —> proceeds to comment that he lives at home, like this is something the poster hadn’t considered
As a reference point I pay £2,000, 1 bedroom on the northern line. Not a great deal but apt is modern at least and close to work
Where?
Most people I know paying 1.2-1.5 ex bills. Sharing. Usually zone 1-2ish.
I pay 1.5ish in central.
If living alone (which most arent), it's 2-2.5k.
you'll be lucky if you manage to find a livable studio for 2-2.5k lol
As I said earlier, your definition of what constitutes "livable" is biased by your privilege.
2.1 ex bills. By myself besides Farringdon.
Analyst 1. Living alone. 1.9k (ex bills). 320 SQF. Canary Wharf. Terrible feeling to see c. 50% of base going through rent. Better years are coming..
£2.9k for a 2 bed out of Clapham. Commute to Canary is not great though.
It also represents nearly 50% of my post tax income.
You can easily find flats with that price point in Canning Town or Stratford tho. Commuting from Clapham to CW is insane
Didn’t really like those locations - found Stratford to be quite boring, while I can walk into the huge Clapham park on weekends when not working, with a « small village vibe »
Clapham to CW is 30/40min of tube door to door so it is not that terrible?does it really sound insane?
3k a month to have ISIS and the intifada outside taking over London? Yikes.
you're definitely a weirdo in real life, step outside and touch grass.
They named themselves after a pornsite.
Not sure what you expected
i am happy to share no doubt but even for 1.2-1.5k most of the furnishing of these places genuinely suck, why do i earn so much money to live like a victorian child ???
A1. I now pay £1.9k excl bills for a nicely furnished flat in Zone 2 (North London), which I share with my gf. It takes me ~25 minutes to commute to work in Mayfair, overall very good deal for 1k per person imo
Ignore title. An1. 1.6k St John's Wood, nice walk to Mayfair/Marylebone + tube to work
