London SA at GS vs. CVP??
Hi, looking for advice on choosing between a London SA at GS vs. CVP. Based on last year's stats, both seem to have fairly similar return-offer ratios, and pay is higher at CVP, but GS has a significantly stronger brand (I think CVP is less known outside of IB). Both offer incredible learning opportunities, but I'd be interested in hearing any views on long-term career perspective.
Appreciate any color here!

Depends what you're optimising for:
If you want exit opps, go for GS.
If you want a Long-term career, go for CVP.
(I spent time at one of the two shops)
CVP.
However, all my friends working there have said they cried on average once a week in the toilets. It's an incredible opportunity for exits but not sustainable in the LT based off what I've heard from analyst - associate levels.
Thanks! Yeah, I've heard CVP has more hours, but it also has lower attrition than GS when you look at people who lateral to PE (based on LinkedIn, no inside info). But that could just be based on numbers (way bigger analyst class). Why do you recommend CVP more??
London office has quite lean teams and it's a relatively small office = good learning experience and exposure. Culturally they differ a lot too, I've interviewed with both and people at CVP seemed to come off as well-rounded finance hardos and at a senior level everyone was genuinely enjoyable to interact with (obviously cannot comment on the character of my friends since that would be biased...)
I was painted a picture that while the job is pretty demanding, they did really enjoy their time there.
Apologies for the vague answer, I'm no longer in the IB game but hope this gives you some kind of perspective (btw I remember recruiting for CVP being very hunger games-eque)
It's the same at both shops, tbh.
Happy to be corrected if wrong, but I was under the impression that on the whole gs coverage teams aren't usually advertised as being lean?
I agree that we're splitting hairs here tbf
