Long distance moving for a job
I have a MM IB offer but will need to move half way across the country for it(east coast to mid west). Is it worth leaving my family/friends for the opportunity?
For background, I'm lateraling from a no name regional boutique, went to a non-target, and had a 3.8 GPA. I have no idea what to do, since I also received a corp. banking offer from a NYC BB, which will keep me closer to my family but will limit my exit opps. Long term I want to move to a HF, which I believe the IB offer would set me up best for, but I am finding it difficult to up root my entire life for a chance at making it to one. Overall, should I take the IB offer or take the corp banking offer and look to lateral in another year or so?
Take the IB opportunity. Moving is not a permanent thing unless you choose to make that choice.
