Lost in Asia, what are my next steps?

Hi everyone,

I am currently a junior analyst at a mid-market ib (international bank with weak deal flow) in Asia. Deal flow is limited and my team closes only 1 deal in last 2 to 3 years. Transferring to other teams/offices is unlikely due to the office politics and culture there.

Lateraling and exiting to corporate development seems very unlikely due to the lack of deal experience. Many of my colleagues tried this path with no success.

I am currently considering doing an MBA after a few years and try again for summer associate at other banks. However, it seems that summer associate in Asia are mainly former trainees at corporates such as Kraft/Shell etc. rather than former investment bankers.

What should I do? Can someone with Asia experience weight in? It would be really great if I can hear some views on corporate exits in Asia.
