Low Performance Rating

Lathered to this team 2 months ago and manager feels like I deserve a “partially met” rating. The lowest rating due to being in this role for 2 months even though I already closed 5 deals. This is in NYC at a mid level BB. Is this fair and how will it impact me in the future?

As a junior banker don't worry about closed or executed deals. They're helpful to be on, but the count doesn't matter and the revenue you're associated with doesn't matter, because ultimately you have no say on your staffing. It's great for career development and experience, but you can be top rated with minimal closed deals.

What you are rated on is pretty simple. Your overall attitude, teamwork, willingness to roll up your sleeves to help the team, ability to learn quickly, continued improvement in your skills, flexibility, attention to detail, proactivity (asking for more work when finished) engagement throughout the process, and ultimately supporting the team through it all.
