LSE BSc Economics or LSE BSc Finance
Hi. I recently received an offer to study BSc economics at LSE and was wondering if it would be worth asking to switch to BSc finance, as my aim is to land a high finance role in the future, particularly in IB / PE / HF. I was wondering if it would make any difference doing so, and if maybe one degree had an advantage over another in terms of recruitment, employment etc.
Won’t make any substantial difference, just do whatever is easier to get good grades. Will say the bsc finance guys seem like they enjoy their course and their facilities more than the econ guys do
Thank you, I appreciate the support. Do you mind expanding on what exactly you mean by facilities?
LSE’s finance department has a lot more funding per student than any other department, so things like their common room is a lot more kitted out. Free snacks, drinks etc everyday.
For HF out of uni either course will be fine, assuming you're targeting L/S equity.
What are the paths to obtaining HF straight from Uni? Thanks
