Do banks care about lying about an extra curricular position from your resume. I had made a mistake, with my resume stating one position instead of another (on equal standard). I am incoming at a BB next year and was wondering if anyone had the background check company call their club president or have the requirement to show proof.

I don't think any would really care. I actually think its more of an issue that you made a mistake on your resume. That being said, no one is going to run a background check but if you really want to, you can tell HR there is a mistake on your resume and send them an updated version.
