M&A Boutique vs Restructuring Bulge Bracket
Hey Everyone,
I have two internships offers:
1) M&A for a small M&A boutique, cross industry, covers financial sponsors as well, pretty active and good standing in league tables.
2) Restructuring at RBS (not pitching clients, just restructuring the bank's clients in financial distress)
Both are for 6-month long, have few employment opportunities at the end of the internship and the pay is exactly the same.
Is M&A better than restructuring? If yes, to what extent does the brand name plays a role?
Thanks! HNY everyone.
RBS is hardly considered a bulge bracket
M&A if you want to do M&A...
Restructuring if you want to do restructuring...
Personally I would pick M&A, sounds like you would actually get to work on live deals
Yes, I wrote bulge bracket as a synonym for "international investment bank with good reputation".
"good reputation"
hahah the definition of a bulge bracket is pretty set dude, check out the league tables and if you want to continue making up terms, you'll see that RBS would fall in line with "respectable middle market"
M&A
