M&A or no M&A

Does BofA have a specific M&A group in London? I swear I've read that they don't have one, but one of the guy's I interviewed with got put in the M&A group. Is that a very general group covering all of IBD, or a really specific one? I've been put in a more "normal" specific group and just wondering what I'm missing out on.

As far as I know, BoA doesn't have a specific M&A group in London; they only have sector teams that I guess do their own M&A executions and sector coverage. Mind you not all I-banks have a M&A product team, e.g. GS in London doesn't have one either.

Are you starting FT this summer?

This is why I was confused. I thought that they had sector teams too. But he heard yesterday that he's in the M%A group. Could it just be that they haven't decided what sector he'll be covering and gave him a really broad assignment?
